In the spring of 2024 I worked on a quilt for a quilt show in France in September. However because of a misunderstanding regarding the size I made it 35"x35" instead of 35 cm x 35 cm.
Well that happens and I really don't care, even though the representative from the Icelandic Quilt Association was very sorry and could not stop apologizing. However she contacted me few days after she received the quilt and told me that a UK show in October was interested in displaying the quilt as well as the Icelandic Quilt Association Christmas show. I of course agreed to it all, so now the quilt is somewhere on the way to the UK to participate in a show in October. Life is often funny this way and I have learned to just enjoy it.
So the theme was "Imagine a bird" with the additional rule to include a small piece of emerald fabric, the color sometimes used to celebrate on the occasion of a 35th anniversary.
I decided to use the background colors for this additional request and made a gradual effect from sea green to sky blue.
