After making my first two birds I wanted to try to make another animal. I chose the Cod.
It was my father's 60th birthday in 2021 and he is a captain of a fishing ship. That is the reason for choosing the Cod. The Cod is also very simbolic in Icelandic history.
I search the internet for an image but it was not easy to find a good one. The whole living underwater thing really gets in the way. But I finally found an image and started to piece the quilt together.
The background was, once again, a challenge. I also faced some difficulties matching the colours, but I believe the final result is beautiful. Here it is, hanging in my living room just after I finished it. Today, however, it proudly hangs in my parents' home in Hrísey, Iceland.
