"The lady"

Hrísey is famous for having a lot of The rock ptarmigan (Rjúpa). In Hrísey it is forbidden to shoot birds and now it is a perfect bird haven. Rjúpan is the signal bird of Hrísey and I grew up with them all around me. 

Therefore it is strange that I have not made a quilt with the Rjúpa before. But I did not have good pictures of it until late 2024 when I was still living in Reykjavík. I started the piece there, but I just finished it this week, just in time for this event.
